Library policy
The library policy of the Bpi, formalised in a charter, is conditioned by its encyclopaedic nature and its great variety of audiences, as well as by full free access to the collections.
It allows us to preserve a balance both between the different fields of knowledge, between supply and demand, as well as between the annual flux of works which enter and leave collections.
The acquisitions and weeding-out policies, overseen by the library policy delegation, are based in particular on a regular evaluation of the use of the collections.
