Access for people with a handicap

Access to the library is differentiated and facilitated according to the type of handicap.

Parking and reserved parking spaces:
Entrances are on the rue Beaubourg and underground at Les Halles. Exit is through the “piazza”. Spaces are reserved for visitors with handicaps at levels -2 and -3. Exit is by the elevators to rue Saint-Martin, above the “piazza”. Go down the rue Saint-Martin then turn left at the rue Saint-Merri.  The employees’ entrance is in a recess of the building on your left.


Access people with visual impairments

People with physical disabilities or with reduced mobility and people with visual impairments may use the entrance reserved for employees of the Pompidou Centre which is located at the corner of the rue du Renard and the rue Saint-Merri. 

There are tactile guide-paths from the employees’ entrance to the General Information Desk and to the booths (level 1 of the Library).
An elevator, equipped with a sign in braille is available for you behind the escalators. 


Access for people who are deaf or hard of hearing and for people with psychological or mental handicaps

These people can access the Library via the main entrance (piazza) of the Centre Pompidou, by following the queue "priority access".
